New Member Pledge Form

Congregation Albert will send invoices via email unless otherwise specified.

Congregation Albert is committed to a Fair Share Pledge Policy, expecting each member to contribute based on financial ability. No current or prospective member is denied membership because of financial hardship.
Please consider the following Pledge levels:
  • Your Fair Share. This amount is based on 2% of your adjusted gross income, which is your annual income before tax deductions. This 2% includes all non-taxable income, as well. The Board of Trustees believes this pledge policy is the most appropriate for our diverse community. This policy recognizes we have a collective responsibility to pledge according to our individual means.
  • Sustaining Pledge ($2,000 to $2,999 per year). This is the amount necessary for each family to pledge in order to sustain Congregation Albert temple operations, e.g., programming, music, education, youth, salaries, repair and maintenance, insurance, and utilities. The actual Sustaining Pledge for 2022-2023 is $2850/yr per member family, or $215/month.
  • Pillar Circle* ($3,000 to $5,999 per year)
  • Guardian Circle* ($6,000 to $8,999 per year)
  • Pinnacle Circle* ($9,000+ per year)
  • Special Circumstances. We understand that severe financial hardships can happen. If 2% of your gross adjusted income is not affordable at this time, pledge what you can afford. If $18 a year is beyond your means (that's $1.50 per month), please contact our office or our Rabbi to discuss your situation and be approved for Special Circumstances. Special Circumstances members will be contacted semiannually to determine whether the financial situation has changed. No one will be turned away for not being able to afford a pledge.
*In gratitude for their exemplary support, all who donate at the Circle levels will be recognized and entitled to be our honored guests at our cultural event series.

Please indicate the amount of your pledge below, and how you plan to fulfill your pledge. No credit card or bank account information is required at this time, and no payment will be collected at this time.

Semi-annual payments will be billed on July 1 and January 1.
Quarterly payments will be billed on July 1, October 1, January 1, and April 1.
Thank you! Our accounting specialist will contact you with further information regarding your Membership Pledge.

Membership at Congregation Albert requires a contribution to the Building Fund, which pays for maintenance and improvements to our building. A pledge of $2000, in one lump sum or over time, is suggested. New members who can show documentation of completion of a Building Fund pledge to another Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) synagogue in the past 10 years are exempt from this requirement.

If you cannot upload this documentation, please contact our office by emailing office@congregationalbert.org

A $2000 pledge to the Building Fund may be broken down over time. For example:
  • Monthly, over two years = $83.33/month
  • Monthly, over three years = $55.56/month
  • Monthly, over five years = $33.33/month

Annual pledges are most often paid in monthly increments. For this, it is recommended that members establish automatic monthly payments by contacting our accounting specialist. Pledges may also be made in one lump sum, or quarterly, or in any other arrangement which works for you.
Your total annual pledge is due no later than June 30 of every year. Nonpayment of pledged amounts will result in loss of status as a member in good standing. Nonpayment of pledged amounts causes serious consequences for Congregation Albert.
Your annual pledge must be updated annually (often in May or June). The amounts pledged by members directs our annual budget. Members who do not update their annual pledge risk losing status as members in good standing.
Membership Pledges are made in good faith. Timely communication regarding a significant change in your financial circumstances is considered an extension of that good faith. If you are no longer able to afford your pledged amount, please contact our office as soon as possible to discuss the situation and avoid loss of status as a member in good standing.
